Network of Centres of Expertise

Heritage.net develops and coordinates collaborative learning communities for the Cultural Heritage and Information Technologies sectors. This is done by developing an infrastructure that supports shared learning on a regular and sustainable basis. This network, known as the Network of Expertise Centres, is composed by a group of centres which mision is to:

  • support the understanding of both worlds,
  • provide training and facilitate knowledge acquisition of the CH+ICT domain,
  • improve methodologies and techniques to fit better with the needs of the users and
  • debate new ways to introduce and use technology in the CH institutions.

Each Expertise Centre is active in its region, which in most cases will be defined by the region of activity of the founding governmental organisation. Activities outside this region can be regulated by coordinator or by contracts, so that no conflicts emerge between the Expertise Centers.

Her-IT-age.net main aim is to ensure an optimal exchange of information between the centres, a European quality assurance methodology and a centralised technology transfer.
